5115 is suited to small and moderate-section components that are machined before developing a hard case through carburizing.
Case depth, hardness, core properties, grain-size requirements, and heat-treatment responsibility should be supplied with the RFQ.
Purchase to the controlling ASTM, SAE, AMS, or customer specification. Section size, supply condition, mechanical properties, surface limits, testing, and heat/lot traceability can change the acceptable material and processing route.
