An annealing cycle is built around the steel grade, prior processing, section size, and target structure or hardness. The material is heated, soaked, and cooled under controlled conditions.
Full, subcritical, spheroidize, and process-anneal requirements produce different results. The applicable specification or finished machining requirement should identify the intended condition.
