1137 Round Bar: Material Profile

1137 uses controlled sulfur to improve chip breakage and machining productivity compared with plain-carbon grades of similar carbon level.

Cold-drawn condition, diameter tolerance, straightness, and mechanical-property needs should be stated for production machining work.

Purchase to the controlling ASTM, SAE, AMS, or customer specification. Section size, supply condition, mechanical properties, surface limits, testing, and heat/lot traceability can change the acceptable material and processing route.
