Hot-Rolled Bar as Production Stock
Hot rolling shapes steel above its recrystallization range. It provides broad grade and section availability, with mill scale and wider dimensional tolerance than cold-finished bar.
Hot-rolled rounds are commonly ordered as forging or machining stock. Material can be annealed, quenched and tempered, rough turned, turned and polished, ground, straightened, tested, or cut before shipment.

Grade & Properties
Specify the grade, mechanical properties, hardenability, heat-treatment condition, and any cleanliness or testing requirements.
Size & Finish
Define the diameter or shape, tolerance, length, straightness, surface limits, and any processing before delivery.
Applications
Typical applications include shafts, axles, gears, pins, forged components, heavy-equipment parts, tooling, fasteners, oilfield components, and general industrial machinery.
Value-Added Options
Options may include annealing, quench and temper, rough turning, turning and polishing, cold drawing, centerless grinding, straightening, precision cutting, surface treatment, or specified nondestructive examination. Grade, section size, finished allowance, quantity, and specification determine the route.
