1008 is selected when ductility and ease of forming are more important than high strength or through-hardness.

Confirm the required bar condition, dimensional tolerance, surface quality, and any heading or forming requirements with the inquiry.

Purchase to the controlling ASTM, SAE, AMS, or customer specification. Section size, supply condition, mechanical properties, surface limits, testing, and heat/lot traceability can change the acceptable material and processing route.
